Getting 1k worth of money every time you need to buy a skill takes a lot of effort once you start buying tons of skills. That's why.

Elite skill Titles - dislikes and ideas
My mesmer has the Elite Skill Hunter (290). And yes it took forever and cost me a fortune! Even though I have the title I dislike it for a number of reasons:
1. It is not maxed - max level is 360 and I can only hope that the new elites in GW:EN will allow me to max that. It would be nice if it could already count towards Kind of a Big Deal, or People Know Me (She has 6 titles - obviously excluding the Elite Skill hunter). 2. After all the trouble (and cost) that I went through to get the title - there is NO way I feel like doing it with any other character. 3. All my characters have some elites - but there is no motivation for me to chase after more for them. Especially with the hero system because I have every elite unlocked. I have a friend who is concentrating on getting each of his characters their own profession specific titles. Thinking back - I wish I had done it that way. 4. With lightbringer bonus, I no longer run with any other title showing, making all the other title hunting I have done seem unrewarded and a waste of time. I have seen that they are revamping the Elite title so that it is fair to people who do not own all the campaigns. Which sounds great. And here is another idea... ....Make a profession specific title. Get every Elite for your primary and get a title. Pretty easy I know, but still something you could work towards. And then something like the Master Skill Hunter could almost be an account based title. Though I know many people will shoot that idea down! But it would reward people who enjoy playing different characters and playing each one well. And if you chose to do it with one character - great you still get the maxed account title. |

I'm very skeptical about the title split. It sounds to me, like it would be impossible for me to max this title after the split, but I hope that I'm just not understanding how it will work.
For example, lets say there are 50 Elites in Prophecies (random number, I don't know the exact count). Well one of those Elites is Barrage. I capped Barrage in Factions, so it is now impossible for me to cap it in Prophecies. Does this mean I can never max the Prophecies Skill Hunter title? If there are 15 core elites and I capped 5 in Prophecies, 5 in Factions and 5 in Nightfall I can never max any title even though I may have every elite available on my character. This is my main concern with the title split. I'm hoping I'm wrong about this. |

When they say "Prophecies Elite" they mean the ones ONLY available in Prophecies. |

With only 3 tracks, how will CORE skills be managed? I guess they could set it up so that if you capped it in one place you get credit for it on all tracks. I guess I'll just wait and see how it's implemented. |

I have the Elite Skill Hunter (5) (291), and I would really like some count towards KoaBD. HOWEVER, I much prefer wearing Elite Skill Hunter (5) over Kind Of A Big Deal (1) or Prophecies Skill Hunter (x). I would rather they create 3 new titles (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall - Core skills would count +1 to each tier) and leave the current title (still unmaxable).

If I'm not mistaken, how it will work is
let's say you have 4 core skills 10 tyrian elites 16 canthan elites 8 elonian elites. Your titles would read 14 for tyrian, 20 for canthan, and 12 for elonian, you with me? The core skills just add to your existing tracks. And if you cap a skill that belongs in tyria, but you capped it in factions, it would actually just count on your tyrian track, not your canthan track. It's not where you capped it, its which campaign the elite belongs to. |
